I'm a Sony Ericsson fan, through and through. So before I even opened the box of the Sony Ericsson Satio, I was incredibly excited.
After removing it from the box, I immediately exclaimed "it's a boy!" (It has a dangly bit). The Satio is a touch-screen phone, and comes with a stylus attached. After reviewing the Nokia X6 recently, I must admit that my liking for touch-screen phones has increased.
On closer exploration, I also discovered that the Satio has a, wait for it.... 12.1MP camera!! This is in line with, or possibly even better, than a lot of the standard digital cameras currently available on the market. Sony Ericsson has always split their phones between the music and camera varieties, and the Satio is clearly at the top of the camera phone collection.
In general I prefer phones in plain black, single colour, or as little colour variation as possible. Needless to say then that I am already falling for this phone, before even having turned it on..
Inserting the SIM, I am reminded how much I like the way that everything on a Sony Ericcson fits together, and comes across as "slick". Still a fairly bulky phone, I am nonetheless impressed with the slim battery and compactness of elements on the phone.
Even before starting it up, my expectations for this phone are quite high, and I look forward to further surprises from this handset.
