Strange name, great concept
So, I need to be candid here and explain that the Sony Ericsson Aino wasn't given a fair chance at first. You see, the day that I had to give away the love of my life the Dell Alienware m15x, was the day I received the Aino. As I'm a sentimental being, I opened the Aino box 3 days after I received it; once the tears for the Alienware ended. As you can see, I'm also somewhat of a drama queen.
It's (sort-of) all fun and games with this phone
Now the thing I was pleasantly surprised about was the interface - the only way I can think to describe it is extremely console-like. Another thing that caught my attention was the fact that this phone was a mixture of touchscreen and regular old-school phone too. The great thing about that is, though touch-screen phones are fantastic... I have to ask: have you've ever tried texting while on the move? (And dear Oprah, I mean on the move in general not texting while driving). It's extremely annoying and beyond challenging with a touch-screen phone.
Oh, and guess what? I also discovered that you can hook this phone up with your Playstation 3. In one short day, these two discoveries meant that the Aino had already gained some massive cred in my books. But...unfortunately this review won't be all raving rainbows and unicorns... as I have to be honest here - I feel this phone has great potential to be awesome, but not just yet. It just feels like something is missing.
Is there more?
In theory, it sounds like a truly great phone. But when applied in the real world, the Aino lacks depth...and speaking of depth, my full review will explain...soon.
