My contract on my current phone is close to renewal, so I was very keen to try out a new handset. I've been eyeing the Samsung Wave out as a possible new phone, and this was an ideal opportunity for me to see whether it would work for me.
Once I figured out (ie Googled) how to insert the SIM card, and got that out the way, I was ready to ride the Wave.
I like the look of the phone – it's light and it's sleek, and once it's turned on the menus seem to be easy to navigate, and the menu options and applications are nicely laid out and easy to find. Oh and I LOVE the way that it moves from portrait to landscape view so easily and effortlessly... slick!
For someone who is used to a phone with a full qwerty keyboard, this touch screen is taking time to get used to. The first day was very frustrating as I keep typing the whole letters, even when using the bigger keys when the phone was sideways. But by the next day I was already becoming a whizz at it.
This was not a problem at all for my kids though, and even my 3 year old had worked out the touch navigation within a few minutes (without help).
If I can get past the problems I'm having setting up and syncing my contacts and calendar items on the phone, I'm sure I'll really enjoy using the phone over the next few weeks... the kids already LOVE it and grab it at any opportunity, as the games on it are a pretty awesome touch experience.
