Seeing that I recently dropped my camera and got the dreaded "lens error" message that spelled its demise, I was rather keen to review the Toshiba Camileo BW10 Sportcam. At first touch, the camera's rubbery non-slip coating feels good in one's hand and it's so compact, it's not much larger than your average smartphone.

The interface is idiot-proof. A 5-way navigation pad and buttons with self-explanatory graphics make it easy to use - no immediate need for the multi-lingual quick-start guide. Power it up, choose the camera or the videocam button and "say cheese!"

For those of you prone to spilling stuff on your prized electronics, fear no more, the Camileo BW10 is waterproof. It also shoots high definition video, takes 5MP still images and is a self-professed sportcam.
I'll be spending the next week or so keeping my focus on the Camileo BW10.
However, judging from the shaky video clips I've managed to capture so far, sad to say, I don't think it's going to turn me into even an approximation of the next Kathryn Bigelow.
