Blackberry comes to Cell C
Cell C and Research In Motion (RIM) have announced the long-awaited availability of the BlackBerry solution for Cell C customers in South Africa. The service is flluy-comprehensive, giving customers access to push e-mail, unlimited on-device web browsing and the ability to use applications downloaded from the Blackberry App-World application store, not to mention the extremely powerful built-in perosnal information management applications and insatnt messaging applications devices ship with. Cell C will offer the service in comnjunction with the Curve 8520, Curve 8900 and Bold 9700 smartphones, and furthermore make the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) solution available to corporate customers. Consumer customers will however be far more interested in the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) which offers all-you-can-eat on device Internet and e-mail usage. As with the other networks, Cell C's offer of the BlackBerry Internet Service provide support for up to 10 supported corporate and personal email accounts (including most popular ISP email accounts such as MWEB, Yahoo! Mail and Google Mail). Pricing The BlackBerry Curve 8520, BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphones are all available on current Cell C post-paid packages including the new BlackBerry All Week 100 for R199 which gives customers 100 anytime minutes across all networks. BlackBerry Internet Service is included with this package. Cell C prepaid customers who have a BlackBerry smartphone or purchase a new one from Cell C will be able to use BIS from as little as R57.00 per month and R114.00 for BES. As always, the attraction of unlimited email and Internet browsing, as well as unlimited use of preloaded data applications without incurring any additional data charges** is a big draw card.
