Meet the Xperia X10 Mini Pro – proof that dynamite does come in small packages.
It’s an adorably tiny Android that you’d never guess was packing a punchy, all-business slide-out QWERTY. Kind of like if Rebecca Black turned out to be a highly efficient, ruthless robot assassin in disguise.
When you take the Xperia out of its box, it’s hard not to underestimate it. Tiny is an understatement – it’s only slightly longer than my index finger. It looks like the quintessential ‘girls’ phone’; no man would buy something that mini unless he was pretty damn confident about the bulge in his boxers.
I have to say it, the phone is friggen adorable. I have to resist the urge to cuddle it in public.

And yet – start using it and you’ll be amazed at how this pretty little thing actually operates. Despite a fairly dinky processor, it’s super-nippy and more reliable than other Androids I’ve played with. It packs in a decent camera, accelerometer and everything else you need to get the full Android experience. It ships with the outdated Android 1.6., but this can be quickly updated to 2.2. (I’ll give you details in the full review).
And best of all? It comes with one of the best slide-out QWERTY keyboards I’ve ever used on a phone, so you don’t need to learn to type with your pinkies on that tiny touch screen. This means you can whack off 30 e-mails in the space of 2 minutes before slipping it back into the pocket of your tightest party jeans. Bazinga!

It’s the reverse-mullet of phones: all party in the front, all business in the back. So far, I’m impressed.
