On-demand T.V. for your Cellphone
On Demand Group and Vodacom have taken a bold leap by launching South Africa - and Africa's - first on-demand television service for 3G enabled cellphones.
The service is available at either R75 per month or R20 per week, already features a rather extensive library of content and is exclusively available to Vodacom customers.
Series currently available include Sex and the City, The Sopranos, and Entourage, not to mention hundreds of music videos. Data charges for the delivery of the content are built into the monthly subscription fee, so the flat rate of R75 per month or R20 per week allows subscribers to watch as much or as little content as they desire. The fact that the service also features the ability to pause, resume, and replay content, means users can carry on where they left off, with ease.
During the launch month, the Vodacom and On Demand are offering the first month's subscrition for free.
The service can be accessed by SMS'ing 'ondemand' to 31116 (FREE) or visiting Vodafone live from your 3G enabled cellphone.
