The new iPod nano is a technological marvel.
No, really, it is. Just look at it, it's impossibly sleek. How do they fit so much stuff in such an eye-searingly picturesque miniscule package? 16GB of memory, an FM radio that you can pause and rewind (yes, pause and rewind the radio!) and a really great quality video camera all in one little device that's a mere 6.2mm thick.
It comes in a gorgeous minimalist casing stored like a piece of fine jewellery in its box, with all the cords and bits neatly tucked away. I've had it for three days now and apart from the fact that it took me almost ten minutes to figure out how to switch it off (you don't - it switches itself off) it has been totally intuitive and painless to use.
And the sound! It has the most astounding sound quality, better than any concert hall I've been to. I'm really looking forward to giving the video camera a whirl, and testing out Apple's 24-hour battery life claim.
So far, it's everything I hoped it would be.
