After weeks of my editor frantically trying to obtain some #CSIRuby goodies for me to review, Sony came to our rescue with their SX series digital voice recorder. In essence, it’s a dictaphone, but it is sooooo much more than just an old school voice recorder.
The one I got is a beautiful RED colour (Sony knows just how to make my heart happy), is super light and came with a little stand. It was handed to me without a box, which is actually the way I prefer review gadgets – I’m forced to attempt to use it without reading a manual and it gives me an idea of how easy the product is to use.

I’ve played around with it a bit at home just check out things like how well it picks up voices and at what distances etc. But I haven’t used it in an interview/meeting situation yet, and I’m really looking forward to putting it through the paces.
My best friend jokingly stated that the only reason I immediately fell in love with it was because at a glance it looks a bit like an oversized Swiss Army Knife. He might have a point…but I have a sneaky suspicion this little Sony device is going to go far beyond just impressing me with looks.
