My first thought on receiving the Logic 3 PhoneStation was: “Why?” As in: “Why would you want to turn your smartphone into a desk phone?”
I plugged my iPhone into the cradle via the 3.5mm jack and made an experimental phone call to my other half using the corded handset.

The mini handset is not very ergonomic and pressed awkwardly against my ear. The cord is also rather short, and because I had the PhoneStation tilted up on its plastic legs (instead of resting flat on my desk on its rubberised base), the unit slide across the surface of the table alarmingly when the cord stretched as I made that first call.
The sound was rather tinny on my end of the line, and my husband reported back that he could hardly hear me, and there was also an echo. Still, that could have been dodgy signal from my service provider...
So what is the Logic 3 PhoneStation good for?
It doesn’t charge your phone for you, but you can use it as a dock to play your smartphone’s music from. Or for hands-free calling. And apparently it can also be used a base when Skyping. I’ll give this all a whirl over the next week or two, and come back with some answers.
