The 5.3” HD touch screen is gorgeously vivid and very responsive. The media’s audio is clear and adequately loud for any music fundi when playing music or watching video.
The Samsung Galaxy Note is a device gets people talking. It’s bigger than a phone and smaller than a tablet, yet is both all the while remaining surprisingly thin and lightweight. It’s the Android cousin of the iPhone in both appearance and functionality. The few obvious differences to other phones and tablets are the S Pen that slots in the back at the bottom, the power/lock button on the right side and the two extra keys (Menu and Back key) on either side of the main Home key.

Adjusting the keypad’s sound effects (and other settings) took more time to work out than expected and it is not as intuitive as I’d hoped. Luckily other features like continuous social network syncing and notifications make up for that.
The Note is said to fill the gap between the phone and tablet. The question I ask though is, is there a gap? In the next few weeks I’ll work out whether this new breed of device is a phablet or in fact a fab-let.
